WHITEST WHITE

Things that are sexy: clear skin, healthy hair and white teeth. I don't care what anyone says, these three things are just a must. I've used White Glo for over a year now, I like it because it doesn't give you that "ah, my eyes are burning cause you're teeth are too white" -effect, but is just great at keeping up a pearly schhhmile.

White Glo's products are available from most pharmacies and leading supermarkets or online at whiteglo.com.au, and won't put a hole in your wallet either. The pen is a great little thing to keep in your bag if you're heading out, just takes 10 minutes to touch up those little whites.

Easy-peasy.

Lucky me..!

Just realised that I start my cleanse tomorrow. I'm going with Lucky You Cleanse, whom I've never tried before but have only heard good things about. Three days of 6 x juices a day, all to hail a happier, healthier you. This also means, however (unfortunately) - no coffee or caffeine of any sort, starting your days with hot water & lemon (is something I cannot stand) and not being able to have dinner with my man every night. But what's three days, if it's all for the goodness. I'll keep you posted on how it is, day by day.

Toxins are all around us, no escape. Basic elements required for existence such as air, food, and water often include pollution and chemicals. We accumulate these toxins over a period of time and eventually our bodies succumb, in the form of sinus issues, low energy, poor skin quality, and further down the road develop into more challenging imbalances. We need to eliminate these built up toxins on a consistent basis and free ourselves from these bothersome concerns - lucky you that's our specialty.

- Rebalance the body
- Oxygenate
- Alkalize the system
- Give digestion a rest
- Remove acidic build - up in the colon, to encourage proper nutrient absorption
- Re-hydrate the system
- Create better eating habits

It is possible to live in a state of balance and vitality. Allow yourself this experience. This is all about transition. A main reason why we use these focused cleanses is to break unhealthy eating patterns, and move towards feeding ourselves vibrant and health generating foods. WE do not believe in deprivation, or being miserable. Not what it's all about. We DO believe that this journey is all about celebration, freedom, fun and living life to the fullest. WE accomplish this by transitioning towards a goal at our own personal pace. Add the healthy choices in, the less-than great choices fall away. Keep new toxic load to a minimum. Stay green and keep juicing.

So here's to being clean, cleansed & happy. Bring on summer x

sense of purity

In my effort to getting up early and looking after myself better, I've caught on to the Coconut Water trend - which I'm sure you've all heard of and seen in the hands of celebs all over the world. Blah blah - what is it and does it really work?

The first time I tried coconut water I wasn't impressed, this is the honest truth. I tried a packaged brand that tasted... terrible to say the least. But having many friends who are personal trainers and fitness gurus alike, I couldn't shake the number of times they'd mention the stuff. A few weeks ago I stumbled across Cocobella. Wow.

Cocobella Coconut Water is 100% natural coconut water which contains no fat, no preservatives. Yay! And guess what - it tastes GREAT. My favourite is the 'Straight Up' - I drink it pretty much after every work out. It's refreshing and it actually makes you feel good. If you do however prefer a little bit of flavour you can choose from Mango, Pinapple or Pink Guava.

So what's so great about this stuff? Think of it as nature's sports drink. You know that brightly coloured stuff you drink after a work out? This is that, only colour, preservative and added sugar free, and best of all - natural. It also contains 3 times more electrolytes than your average sports drink... that's a lot. If you do work out a bit, and need a little something more than just plain water after your session, I can highly recommend this. Cocobella is available at most petrol station, supermarkets and at Fitness First. Do it.

images form Doll House - link

Ick. Today is not a good day. I don't know if it's because it's Monday or because of the overload of negative energy... Just trying to shake it off. Finding beautiful shoots like this one by Doll House (shopplanetblue.com) makes my day a little easier. Also on the bright side, we had a wonderful weekend celebrating my man's birthday. Yesterday we had a bit of a Sunday session at The Winery in Surry Hills, which if you are in Sydney, you MUST go to. It was my first time there but definitely not the last. Tapas and an insanely good Piot Noir ended the weekend which I am now missing... a lot. x

kora

I've wrapped my paws around Miranda Kerr's skin care line, KORA Organics. For the new year I made the resolution to resume a healthier lifestyle and look after myself better (not that I don't, but just more and better). This means less drinking, more exercise, not skipping meals, eating good food, being more productive, more positive, and learning to accept myself more. Yes blah blah all this mush, but it's something I've wanted to do for a while.

In this little regime I decided to try organic skin care, and what not better than that from Miranda Kerr. I've heard so many great things about her KORA range, and though it doesn't come cheap, I decided I wanted to form my own opinion. I used Proactive for a while, without any apparent reason as I never have had, or currently have acne, but it was meant to be beneficial for all skin types. Proactive is a very chemical based, harsh skin care line. I can't say anything negative about it, but it was way to harsh for my skin. If you have trouble keeping your skin clear and healthy, or have issues with acne or excessive breakouts, Proactive is a great product. I need something more gentle for my skin.

Hopefully, this is all it's talked up to be. I can tell you now, it smells divine and feels beautiful on your skin. I'll keep you posted on my thoughts. If you want to find out more, here is the KORA Website, and KORA Blog. The range is available online and otherwise exclusive to David Jones in Australia.

shimmer me sweet

I've been trying out a new bronzing kit from Natural Compatibles which is absolutely divine, and I can't wait to share. I hate feeling pale in winter, and I'm not one to pile on the make up or tie myself to a solarium bed, so this little baby is my best friend this winter. Natural Compatibles is an awesome range of Australian made mineral enhanced make up which is subtle and so easy to use.

I'll be posting a little 'how to' in a few days x

classic with a twist

On the weekend my beautiful girlfriend had her engagement party at The White Hart, a brand new cocktail bar / pub on Grosvenor St in Neutral Bay. Apart from the the fact that they are one of the most beautiful couples I know, this place just made everything that little bit more amazing.

Imagine your classic British pub, but modernised with to-die-for cocktails, beautiful food, kick-arse interior and a royal look and feel. If you're in Sydney be sure to pop by this place sometime, I know the boys have already planned a birthday night of royal madness here while I'm in New York... And you can bet your fancy underpants that there will be plenty of good times spent here over winter.

Congratulations again to my beautiful Sophie & her man. The future SHINES for you xo

TIP : flannelette vest

image borrowed from esmedge

We shot a few of these in different colours for SUPRÉ online yesterday, they should be available by the end of the day, in a whole heap of different colours. Perfect this summer to a pair of destroyed denim shorts and ankle booties - festival bebe.

If your in Australia you can just head to LOWES instead and buy something a bit oversized and custom make your own with a pair of scissors and perhaps a bit of sand paper... which I think is exactly what I'm going to do xo

BLACK MILK

Just fell in LOVE with these amazing pieces from a edgy little brand called Black Milk. Black Milk which was founded in 2009 by James Lillis, first began by making rad tights late at night on his kitchen table with his recently purchased sewing machines. It didn't take long until girls all over the world picked up on the ground breaking designs and bold - but sexy prints.

Black Milk tights began to sell in the thousands and it shortly became James' full time job. And still to this day, he sits up until midnight at his kitchen table - designing and sewing. Now there is some true passion, which you can see in his designs.

For summer Black Milk is releasing these almost too awesome swim/ bodysuits. I fell in love with these two. Brilliant for a night out teamed with a pair of ripped denim shorts. Rawr. Follow Black Milk with their blog Too Many Tights! or shop their online store xo

BEAUTY ESSENTIALS

Lucas' Pawpaw Ointment, Enhance by Natural Compatible's Perfect Touch Concealers

If there are two things that I can't live without, it would have to be Pawpaw Ointment and a good and reliable concealer. I am not one to pile on the make up but I do love a fresh and bright looking face. And honestly, who feels on top of the world everyday?

So to help you get along with your day and boost your own beauty, this newly released "Perfect Touch" concealer by Enhance by Natural Compatibles is perfect. Each wand comes with a small sponge at the end so you can blend it without having to get messy. I have it in two shades - the pinkish one is to cover any dark circles around the eyes, and truly is magic. My hero on those ridiculously early mornings. Once you've applied the pink, use the lighter toned one to blend with and you end up with a very open eye- fresh faced look.

I use the Natural Compatibles range already, as you know by this previous post I did, and I absolutely love their products, for the fact that they are mineral enhanced and very natural looking. And their make-up tutorial videos are great for tips and inspirations, and a very helpful if you're not sure as to how to use the product.

The Perfect Touch Concealer is avaiable in 5 shades: Tan, Beige, Ivory, Natural and Anti-Red, for $30 each.

HOW TO: THE SMOKEY EYE

As my inspiration I used an image from Versace 2010

I was sent to try a brand of make up called Enhance by Natural Compatibles. Enhance by Natural Compatibles is an Australian made, mineral enriched make-up brand that has been enhancing the natural beauty of Australian women for over 17 years.

Sarah Patricia, international model and make-up artist is independent of Natural Compatibles and is also the artist in the video below and works with Natural Compatibles for demonstrations and testings. She has also recently featured in Megan Gales swimwear launch, Peter Morrissey campaign, David Jones Fashion show and more.

I tried the "Smokey Eye" look this morning before heading to work, which you can see a step-by-step in the video below. The products are fantastic, and even though I am not a fan of foundation person the "Wet and Dry" foundation I was given is incredibly light and smooth on your skin. I was a bit reluctant to the colour palette for my eyes, as they are mainly pink and purple and I am not used to using these types of shades. This is definately something I will continue to use, perhaps not on a daily basis but more for the special occasion. And the fact that they are all mineral based means it gets my vote. The make-up tutorials are great (and I can spend hours watching people apply make up to others... I find it strangely fascinating...) - you can find them all on their YouTube channel.

A big thank you to Natural Compatibles for this great little gift pack! xo

BARS AND NIGHTCLUBS

Australia's bar scene provides an enviable selection of venue's to start the night. Bars and lounges are plentiful in all capital cities, a great place for Friday night drinks or as an introduction to the night. Whatever your tastes, be it the casual atmosphere of a sports bar, or an upmarket cocktail bar or lounge, Australia has something for everyone.

Just a little hint for all you party people here in Australia. I have a friend who has recently launched this genious website called barsandnightclubs.com.au, which is basically GOOGLE for bars and nightclubs in Australia. It's a community where you can browse for bars / nightclubs to suit your night out or location. You can even search DJ's, read club reviews, submit your own reviews, add in your favourite places, check out up and coming events and much, much more.

It's pretty nifty. So if you don't know which bar, club, pub or garden you want to head to this weekend, maybe give this a browse first.

I got a White Glo toothpaste, brush and mini brushes in the MOK Theorem goodie bag at the end of the show. For fun's sake, I'm going to see if this stuff actually works. Will keep you posted. xo

PEEP SHOW MASCARA

Well I was up and out of bed just after 4am this morning. Took baby to work and he made me a bacon and egg roll. Mm. Drove in the pouring rain to another full on day at work, to after head to Manly for a restaurant opening with my lovely friend Sophie. So happy that my man is coming with me, he very rarely does.

As I was doing my face this morning I realized I haven't mentioned my new mascara to you guys. As you might have read before I am quite picky with my mascara, as I use it almost every day and LOVE a good mascara. This one is one of the best I have ever had. It's called Peep Show and comes from Napoleon make up. It fills and extends and has a perfectly sized wand. Napoleon have a range of mascara's, but this is the only one I've tried. Love it. You can get it from any Napoleon outlet near you (click) or online (click).

MONDAY-ITIS

Severe case this morning. I had a lovely realxing weekend but I still feel like I have walked in to a wall. So tired. And so much to do today. When I get home, I'm going for a good session at the gym, and then putting myself in a bath. I'll be foaming it up with this - Palmolive's new "Nutra-Fruit" in Kiwi. No it's not really a bubble bath, it's a shower gel but it smells so good that I'm going to tip it in to my bath tonight. Available in Madrarin, Pomegranate and Kiwi this will probably end up being my new best friend over winter, along with my fluffy slippers and wooly jumper ;)

ROOIBOS TEA

I started my morning after a very hectic yesterday with a cup of this. Yum. The Rooibos plant is used to make a herbal tea called rooibos tea, bush tea, redbush tea, South African red tea, or red tea. Or just really good tea, that's good for you!

I was introduced to Rooibos tea when we went to South Africa last year. Since my man is from SA, he showed me all the traditions and everyday things, and this was something that was part of every South African's daily routine - morning, afternoon and after dinner. Stef's mum got me addicted to it, and I was sad to not have it back here in Sydney. Until I recieved this from http://www.rooibos.net.au/. Happiness! This Rooibos is organtic, and as with all Rooios teas full of health benefits like strengthening your skin, hair and nails. I am trying to slowly replace my morning coffe with this... so far so good.

NUDIE'S COCONUT WATER

I received a sample of Nudie's up and coming Coconut water, which is a first in Australia set to launch in stores soon. You might remember me blogging about it when the news first hit the news screens last week. I was keen to try it, and now that I have, here is the vedict!

So blah blah blah, the news claimed it to be the "new miracle drink", and will help you look younger and feel refreshed. Let me tell you, I do not feel younger after drinking this, but I do feel re hydrated and "satisfied". I brought a bottle with me to the gym yesterday, as it's supposed to be so hydrating and have the ability to restore vitamns and minerals after a good work out. WARNING: this is not coke. It's not sugary, sweet or of thick consistency. It's like a sportsdrink. I love it cause I'm generally not one for the sweet things, but I've hear from a few ends that the taste is not very nice (probably becasue it's not as sweet as you might expect). For me, it's perfect, especially after a work out. I must say that the pure flavour (straight up coconut water) is pretty full on, very coconutty. The orange and passionfruit flavour is awesome. I will definately continue to use this as a booster after a good work out. Do note though, that this is not a miracle solution to anything. The only reason it tastes good and is good for you is because it's natural and pure. Nothing will ever replace water. But if you need a bit of flavour and a bit of a boost, this is definately the way to go. Well done Nudie!

nudie's coconut water gets my thumbs up
