'Suped Up.

I had a bit of DIY fun-in this weekend while I was finishing off my MINKPINK 'Suped Up Slashers - with a few left over jewellery pieces, needle, thread, a bit of patience and a lot of bleach, here is how to :



Get some. You can do so here - and also follow the wonderful world of MINKPINK on Facebook here. Find a sink and whack out the bleach. If you don't have a sink with a long tap arm, a bucket and a stick will also do. Thread the shorts' loop holes and make sure that the area that you want dip dyed is completely covered. Wait.



Dip-dye perfection. Check that your bleaching progress is coming along. They may go a bit yellow in the process - this is where you add more bleach, and guess what else? Wait longer.



Find somethings metal or little jewellery accessories - think pearls, chains : anything that comes to mind. I found little coins with holes in the top that I picked up at some market months ago. Grab a needle & thread.



Enter patience. Use the 'slashed' parts of the shorts to fasten the little bits of metal. One at a time. This takes time but it's worth it in the end.

I happened to have an old pair of white denim shorts that I don't wear anymore - which had awesomely studded pockets. I ripped these off, cut them to size and slipped them in to the front pocket, and sticked around the outside. Any kind of denim will work here - as long as they come from another pair of jeans.



Voila. You've been 'suped.

There is something about an oversized jacket, black skinnies, dinosaur shoes and whatever attitude that makes me feel right at home. I'm not sure what it is but I like it. This jacket took me about three hours to put together, using fabric paint and this piece of denim wonderful I found in the men's sale section... the things you do.

I'm glad the week is coming to and end, even though there is a busy weekend ahead. And in a week from now we'll be back in our wonderful little escape-house in Bermagui. Dream.

Your Pretty Little Mind

What you need:

1. An awesome (cheap) denim jacket
2. Two pair brushes (one thick one thin)
3. Fabric paint (TIP: Spotlight have lots of this at a decent price)
4. Permanent marker
5. An iron & ironing board
6. Patience

what you need: wooden box. white paint. sandpaper. shells. superglue. voila!
Had a really productive, aaaand a really lazy day today, began with sleeping through my alarm and rushing out the door at 6am to meet Lizzie at the vintage markets. Had a really bad sleep, got punched in the mouth by accident by my boyfriend in his sleep (quite funny actually) so my lip has a massive hole on the inside and bled like a mfckr. Ha!

The new collection for The Little Rabbit is hitting the web next week (a sneak preview anyway) and the rest of the collection during the month of April. Get excited.

Found an old wooden box and decided to decorate it. Brought home a flower pot. Sorted out my outfit for the tighttigers party tomorrow, which is going to be a rager. Watch out! xo

this is the last time

KEEPING MY MIND ELSEWHERE

I'm going to finish off my necklace tonight after heading to the gym first... My man has coffee with a friend so I'm alone for the beginning of the evening. It happens to me at this time every year- I get the shits with everything and everyone, including myself. Things aren't good enough, fast enough, pretty enough, smart enough. I don't know why this happens but I know that I just have to keep my mind off it... Cause I know I'm just being ridiculous. Off to the gym.

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT THE WORLD BEGINS AGAIN

I finished my dress! Wore it to work today. Finally. Not only did I get to clear up my little work shop that was spread out across the whole dining table, but I finally got to wear it! A lot of blood sweat and tears went in to this. And it's far from perfect.
But so am I.

CREATIVITY FLOW

My mans old jeans are taking shape, a pair of scissors later. Think I might add a splash of white paint, and rip them up some more. Can't believe he was about to throw these old jeans out. Bestest shorts ever.

Hooked on "Alejandro" - Another one of Lady G's new singles. I think I might just want to marry this woman. Looking forward to another WHOLE weekend off. Amazing, does that ever happen. Still have a heap of freelance work to get underway along with a few of these chain orders. Love that you guys are loving them! Get yourself one here.
