PINCH ME, QUICK

I received an email about this project late last week, and just had to share it with you. If you are an Australian based blogger and think you have what it takes, GET YOURSELF INVOLVED. This is an absolutely amazing opportunity.

An Australian first, Westfield will launch a national search, looking for the new The Westfield Insider. The full-time paid blogger will create an online shopping community and be the source on fashion news, sales, budget buys and trends for the season. The successful applicant will lock in to a 12 month contract, earn a six-figure salary, with all the mod cons (laptop, iPhone) and the best bit – write about what their passionate about, SHOPPING.

Registrations are open until the 1st October. Applicants can enter online by clicking on the “Shop and Tell” link at westfield.com.au.

(VERY) CLEARLY NOTED

1. RODARTE NY FASHION WEEK FALL 2010
2. RAG & BONE NY FASHION WEEK FALL 2010

1. Florals. Crochet. Innocent white lace. A radiant, dreamy change in direction, Fall 2010 sees Rodarte's signature techniques and distinct style of layering take on a more optimistic air. 2. What made Rag & Bone's interpretations so fresh was that their new takes on both lingerie as outerwear and bondage fashion were spun with a utilitarian, sporty feel.

These two are by far my faves from NY Fashion Week. What are you guys loving/ not so much? xo

PRESS RESET

thomas sabo & sportsgirl necklaces, gifted hat, vintage skirt, betts booties

On the weekend we got stuck at Bunnings and I went a bit flower-crazy. So now we have a lime tree, strawberries, a passionfruit tree and a chili tree growing on the balcony. Hopefully we'll get some passionfruit in time for summer, as there will be many mojito nights out here. Can't wait.

GIVE HOPE.

Hey girlies. And boys for that matter of fact. It's Saturday and I'm gathering strength for the coming few weeks but I wanted to pop in and mention something important.

If you're in Australia, this Sunday at 7:30pm Chanel 9's "60 Minutes" are doing a small feature on a girl who is fighting a battle against anorexia. If you are in Australia, I ask of you to please sit down and spare 15 minutes of your day to watch this. Basically, it's important and I want you to listen.

A way to support is through Sportsgirl's campaign "GIVE HOPE" which you might have heard about. Awesome fashion, and there is no better cause. Enough said. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and thank you for all your beautiful comments & new follows xo

BILLYCOCK SS10/11 LOOKBOOK

billycock ss 10/11 lookbook

As promised, here are the results from the weekends photoshoot with billycock jeans and their two main men - Jem and Goldy. I had a lot of fun getting back in front of the camera, adn the JEANS. Oh the jeans. Let's just say that I neeeeeed another pair. Need. Want. If you are interested in any of these looks contact the boys through their facebook page, but you best hurry up, cause they'll sell out before you can say... cock. And PS - that last pair - absolutely amazing. The ones I mentioned in the post below.

Billycock jeans have been one of Bondi’s best-kept fashion secrets for 2010. The pieces have been available through only word-of-mouth and a customer needed to know someone on the inside or a friend who had already purchased a pair in order to get kitted in a piece for themselves.

The name Billycock comes from gangsters, which emerged out of Manchester around 1870. They were called ‘The Scuttlers’ and these hoodlums were Britain’s first youth cult. These ruffians would dress up as sartorial warriors and kick the living daylights out of other gangs. Billycock draws its inspiration from ‘The Scuttlers’ attitudes and ideas of fashion-pride, brotherhood and living for the streets.

The jeans themselves are all hand-made in Sydney using only the most premium and artisanal Japanese fabrics. The Billycock duo Jeremy Kinstlinger and Chaim Goldstein conjure up each wash and finish by hand and each pair crafted has been a completely individual creation. Bespoke jeans were made for only the most special of customers.

This year has seen the creation of three unique batches of jeans, which all sold out within weeks of their release. Like all good secrets the cat has been let out of the bag and demand has grown to a point where there is not enough time in a day for the boys to satisfy their customers in their home studio. In order to reach a larger audience and make the jeans more accessible to denim fiends they are now looking to stock their jeans in only a handful of select up-market boutiques in Australia. As an anti-establishment label the boys will be very selective about where their product is stocked - do not expect to see them in department stores or chains. Think back-alley type stores and hidden boutiques away from main roads.

Billycock jeans will still be available as a bespoke service however the customer will have to pass a series of tests and questions in order to qualify for a custom made pair to their specifications. Uber-exclusive indeed. It would seem there is a bright future ahead for the Billycock label – keep your eyes peeled, they are definitely one to watch.

BLISSFUL AS YOU ARE

pants: cotton on, shirt: supré, mary-janes: betts

An little outfit to celebrate the spring that feels like it never came. Maybe it will show this week. Until then I'll be tossing flowers and keep pretending that it's warm outside, cause it makes me smile. I can't wait til it's bikini weather and lazy weekends on the beach... Til then flowers will have to do.

BREATHE IN.

Inspiration. Inspiration. I've been unwell the past couple of days so I'm sorry for the lack of posts. Have a bit of a lung infection and finding it hard to breathe, but I've been to the doc's an it's a-OK, just need rest and neurofen. Booya. Hopefully back on track soooooon becasue there are a lot of fun things happening.

On the weekend I did a little lookbook shoot with billycock jeans and the boys, which was awesome fun. I haven't modeled in a while so I felt a bit... eh. But hopefully they turned out alright. Some damn amazing jeans they whip up them two. Until I can show you the shots, join their fanclub HERE. xo

THE CAPED CRUSADER

I have a cape.
And it's awesome. I feel like a superhero in it. Will probably be living in this thing until Summer decides to come around. (I thought it was Spring already? All I can see it grey skies and rain rain rain?)

Can't wait for the weekend to begin. xo

H&M DOES IT. AGAIN

If you are following H&M on Twitter you will have noticed their teasers for their up and coming designer collaboration launching on September 9th. I have always looked up to H&M's way of advertising and marketing the brand, but this takes it all. Not revealing anything and just confusing us all with these little "fuel for fire" clips - all it does is keeps us geussing who it might be.

And guess what - no one knows. And no one will know until September 9th. I have spent many hours going over these videos because I love H&M's deisgner collaborations and think they are almost always equally amazing. And let's face it. It sells out faster than you can say that's hot.

If I were a smaller "cheap and cheerful" fashion brand in Australia I would be dumbfounded - and afraid. Once H&M hits Australia (not confirmed but it will happen) together with Zara they are going to demolish the smaller "fast fashion" brands here. I'm sorry, but there is just no competition.

So my guess after a lot of though, is LANVIN. Yours? xo

MOVING FORWARD

top & clogs: sportsgirl, socks: dotti, hand-chain: own make

Happy first day of spring! I wish I could say it was beautiful outside but it's grey and gloomy. And we are expecting rain later. So yeah, not much to celebrate there. But it's Wedesday, and we are half way through the week. That beautiful sunset greeted me on Monday morning, on the balcony. It reminded me that better times are coming, and I smiled back at it :) xo

These adorable socks were a gift from my beautiful collegue Miss Sonia. I've been looking eeeeverywhere for frilled socks and she came in one day with these for me. How awesome is she? big xx's to her. She blogs: here.
